After all this time, there's a new season of Inuyasha to supposedly start airing this fall. It amuses me that they even announced what part of the manga it covers, which is the last 20 volumes. Guess I'll finally get around to finishing the first series. Dunno what chapter volume 36 starts at but according to Anime-Kraze's very detailed and handy FAQ, the old anime leaves off at just before chapter 352. Visited their site to see if they announced any plans to sub the new series but didn't see any confirmation. I wonder if any of the other subbers will be interested in this. Guess we'll find out come fall.

Also wonder if this had anything to do with mangatraders being asked to remove her works from their site. I don't understand all the whiners in that thread. Has leechers entitlement really gotten as bad as this that the copyright holders are dissed for exercising their rights on the material? I'm surprised it's only now that they were asked to remove them. And seriously, it's not like there aren't other ways to get it. In any case, Viz is already working on unflipped versions of the Inuyasha manga if that's any consolation. Wish they'd do the same for Ranma 1/2 and Mermaid Saga.


In other Rumic news, the first Kyoukai no Rinne tankoubon is being released in Japanese and English at the same time on October 20th. With 13 chapters out and officially scanlated by VIZ to date, I expected as much. I'm considering a purchase since buying as each volume comes out would be less painful than buying it in bulk. Will have to re-read and see if I love it as much as my initial impression leads me to believe. I recall really loving the fact that the lead was a redhead <3

So then I ended up rooting through the VIZ store to see if they had Adachi Mitsuru's Short Program since Amazon didn't have it and other options were pretty much priced like highway robbery. VIZ doesn't have it on their online store either. Instead, I found THESE

Sorry for the time leap to Spring 2009 (circa week 11) but this is the easiest format to update with. I'd promised myself I'd make a proper update this time around or I'll never get around to reviving this journal. And if I don't do one now, there won't be one for tomorrow coz I won't have time to watch anime tonight on account of company sponsored free movie tonight (Transformers 2, YEAH BABY!!!).


So here be my dailies while I try to organize my thoughts in other areas.


Hatsukoi Limited (11)
- Penultimate episode, Enomoto was more annoying than usual. I'll be glad to have them resolve their differences soon. I'll be checking out the 4 volume manga afterwards.

Cross Game (11)
- End of the practice game. The last 3 episodes proves that I still have very little clue when it comes to how baseball works XD

Guin Saga (11)
- Lots of Nalis screentime on this. Sadly, he is still made of much fail, though he doesn't scream like a girl this time around.

Tears to Tiara (11)
- Where the random screencap of the day comes from. I just found that scene where Ogam unleashes his power to be very cool. Come to think of it, Ogam is probably one of the few old guys who doesn't exhibit a penchant for perviness. His droll humor is much love, though the crew seldom appreciates it :/
- Hmm, this was a more serious episode than usual. Normally, we get one humorous almost-but-not-quite-out-of-place scene, which amuses me much. This one is pretty much the resolution to the whole Olivia vs Lidia angst.

Still no new Phantom or Basara this week =/


In the oldies front, I picked xxxHOLIC back up. Apparently, I got further in than I thought. Skimmed some of the earlier episodes trying to find the last episode I saw and found quite a bit more 104 moments that I remember the anime having.

Well, glad I got that out of my system XD I was so frustrated that I decided to remove all the other manga on my MAL Reading list just so there's only two left. I look forward to the day when I can put this on the "On Hold" section XD

P.S. Almost forgot, heard through the grapevine that jpqueen is closing. Today is their last day June 25th, they'll send orders til July 8th or some such. Supposedly, you can see this announcement if you're logged in. I'm not registered though so I can't verify this personally.

I heard that it was finally about to end but WOW, 56 volumes? o_O I wonder what Rumiko Takahashi-sama's next work will be.

Got my hands on a lot of Fujiyama Hyouta manga, belatedly becoming a fan orz I've only read her Honki Ja Nee Kara and 1k Apaato, the latter of which I did not know was her work until recently. Bad mocha, not paying attention to the mangaka.

I really like Sugita Tomokazu's voice in the bl drama Warito Yokuaru Danshikouteki Renaijijou. I heard him in some other drama where I also liked his voice, first time I noticed him actually, he was the seme in the 2nd pair but I don't remember what drama it was.

Finally finished Shounen Onmyouji.

Caught up with Vampire Knight anime (didn't realize I had skipped an ep until I watched the last episode and realised I had no idea what happened before), and subsequently picked up the manga from where I left off. Looks like they pretty much stayed true to the manga. If there were important discrepancies, I didn't see any. Was gonna read ahead but stopped because 1.) I wasn't all that interested and 2.) I may not want to watch the anime again afterwards. I definitely have to go this route when it comes to anime/manga or I won't be able to continue both.

I was very good to my eyes this weekend! Paced myself well and didn't marathon anything! Rested a lot in between. Hope to do the same in the coming weeks.

Just got my hands on the latest scanlation, spoilers for the chapter behind the cut.

I admit, while I liked the close-up shot of his eyes in the previous chapter, the art (or scan quality) didn't impress me much. This shot has better details. Though I still say he suddenly looked like TYL!Gokudera on that top right panel.

If last year had me watching a LOT of anime, I'm hoping this year proves to be more productive on the manga front.

Off to a good start so far and looks like I'm in the mood to pick up a lot of the series I let go due to impatience at the next release and other distractions.

I think a new arc was just starting with a little girl when I left this. The new season of the anime reminded me that I rather enjoyed this series. That and I finally got around to reading Tsubasa.



Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles
Just started reading this. Always been curious about how this links to Holic. Also curious about Kurogane. Skimmed through the first season of the anime and read the manga afterwards. Surprised to see that the anime is mostly consistent with the manga, which sadly not the case for Holic.

These two are supposed to be reaching their final arc so looks like it's a good time to be catching up to them.

Other stuff I plan to catch up on D.Gray-man, Bleach, Naruto (that last one probably not for awhile). I tend to go for Shounen series. Sadly, these are the ones that end up being so long running :/ And I tend to get tired of waiting for the next chapter to come out. It's also harder for me to keep track of the plot/storyline unless I read these continuously that's why I drop them when I get fed up.

Oh, and I need to get back to Vagabond and Blade of the Immortal. Hear an anime is coming out for the latter. Hope they don't do that too badly.

And just so I can say Reborn! isn't the only thing I'm reading these days XD

I think there's been enough talk about his box animal and gloves. So allow me to fangirl over the man himself. Basically when it comes to Ryohei I tend to notice the littlest things. These two panels in particular in chapter 186 are my favorites.



Ryohei says a lot of notable things in this chapter which shows his maturity as well as how some things will never change where he's concerned. Even the name of his box animal, while initially sounding like Engrish, actually has a very meaningful name. I seriously can't wait for the chapters to come.


I would have made an accompanying screencap for TYL!Yamamoto in the latest anime episode if he didn't look like a friggin' ossan. He looked like a vampire when Gokudera punched him, and not in a sexy way :E I swear the animators have lots of love where Gokudera is concerned but absolutely zero love for Yamamoto, tyl or otherwise. And did they just reveal Yamamoto's box animal too soon? I don't remember seeing it that early in the manga.

Ok, I was pretty much useless all week. Didn't get any translation work done at all =_= And now I talk about Saiyuki stuff before I forget again. I keep telling my friends Gaiden 3 is out and everyone is so surprised. See below for evidence XD


Saiyuki Gaiden

I seriously seriously SERIOUSLY want the Gaiden volumes T_T I only have the first volume with the regular cover and I want a copy of the one with the different cover. Why are there different covers again?

Anyways, there is now a volume 3 of Gaiden ;_; athena8 was kind enough to post the covers over here (warning: very image heavy). OMG THE FRONT COVER WITH SANZO CARRYING GOKU!!! AND THE GOKU COLOR INSERT IN THE TABLE OF CONTENTS PAGE!!!

Saiyuki Fic Recs

Weeks ago I was browsing through the saiyuki comm and ended up checking out the fics over at springkink. As I don't really read much fic and don't really ship that many couples, naturally I ended up checking out the saiyuki fics, specifically the Sanzo/Goku ones. Found a couple that I liked enough to rec. Note these are yaoi fics.

And now I flail because I can't for the life of me find the fic I so wanted to rec in the first place. I've been trying to remember how I found it and the closest I can remember is either someone mentioned the fic in a comment to someone's rec, or someone recced it in this comm where really good fanfic is recced. But I can't remember the comm T_T

The fic in question is a really good sort of AU fic where the guys keep getting reincarnated and meeting up in some kind of limbo area. And the best part about it is that Goku is not there (since he's trapped for 500 years) and Sanzo keeps looking for him every time! Whenever they meet up there they complain about each other in their past life. There was one time when Sanzo was a girl and Gojyo kept hitting on him/her XD

Another one is possibly the only Hakkai/Gojyo/Goku threesome fic ever. Also recced in that comm I think. Not a fan of this threesome (or any threesome for that matter) but this one actually worked.


Ugh I'm made of so much fail T_T I really can't remember and I've been looking and looking and looking through comms and user profiles. GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~ But it's getting late and I should be getting home. So if anyone has even a remote idea of what I'm talking about, any help or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I'm one of those people who can't let something go until they remember it, so please take pity XDD
