Oh look, I still know how to use this journal XD

So, I refuse to let the fact that only me and my boss are online to provide support get in the way of my posting here. And I refuse to let the fact that it's been an exhausting couple of weeks due to lack of weekend rest stop me from posting (again). Suffice it to say that birthdays, deathdays, houses, appliances, and the cemetery were involved in that equation. I'll spare you the gory details.

Managed to squeeze in some anime watching amid all the running around. Not much, but yeah. Shinigami-sama is teh cool. I stopped at episode 24 because it seemed like a good place to stop. I love all the Soul Eater characters, with a special fondness for Death the Kid and Soul, but I think Shinigami-sama comes close to being my favorite lol. He needs to use his seme voice more XP

Nakai was in Blade of the Immortal episode 5 so at least that wasn't so bad. Apparently I miss his voice =/ The woman wailing amid the background music during the fight scene continues to irk me.

And here's a meme just for the hell of it.

if I were an html color, I would be this shade of green... )

Logging before this gets lost in my unending backlog of want-to-post-about anime and work swallows me up again. Will start with the latest things I watched and backtrack or whatever.

Caught up with some Oofuri and stopped watching before the tournament starts. Had to re-watch the Haruna flashback eps again coz I forgot most of it (watched at achan's where my concentration is usually shot).

Tajima continues to be love :3 HIM LICKING HANAI'S PLATE CLEAN during Mihashi's impromptu birthday party (points to screencaps above). Just look at his face eyeing that plate XDDD

Abe-kun's voice always bothered me for some reason. Finally figured out why. He reminded me of Alto-kun in Macross Frontier. Sure enough it's the same seiyuu, Nakamura Yuuichi (中村悠一).

Loved the scene where everybody was eavesdropping on Abe talking about his past with Haruna. Saeguchi goes, "ok if I tell this story to the others?" and everyone starts guiltily XDDD Captain Hanai :D

Speaking of Macross F, this is probably one of the best if not THE best anime out there that incorporates both the lyrics and music of a song into the scene so perfectly. This is especially prominent in the last two episodes (19-20). Yoko Kanno is simply amazing <3

At the other end of the spectrum is Blade of the Immortal whose soundtrack I find too obtrusive and definitely not complementary. Also, the flashes of psychedelic colors in the previews and halfway markers are out of place. Oh, apparently I still remember something of the manga coz when this guy showed up I remembered what were on his shoulders right away. It just took me a while to realize it was this same character I was remembering instead of something I read elsewhere. It's too bad really since so many seiyuu showed up in the 2nd episode: Morikawa Toshiyuki, Miki Shin'ichirou, Nakai Kazuya, etc.

Antique Bakery anime continues to amuse, though it started in that incongruous dark tone again. I thought the mom was really abusive. Deko showed up and the various reactions from Ono and Eiji were priceless. They were so scandalized :D Chikage you dog you, didn't know you had it in you, lol. And the expression on his face as he reminisced about his experience and that it felt good XDDD

(temporary sig image until I find time to make a better one)

I've messaged a couple of friends about my new toy, but this is the first time I'm posting it here. I update that more than I do this journal coz it's easier and it's also a good way to keep track of what I'm watching. Should give you an idea what I'm following if you're curious. Anyone who has a similar list or wants to create one, feel free to add me there.

Was talking to a friend recently who is now interested in Reborn coz she saw the Millefiore uniforms (I think). Then I saw this.

Possible spoilers for those who haven't seen episode 19 of Code Geass, where this preview was shown.

Gino looking hot in the preview for the next episode )

Yeah, ok time to go home now. I'm bushed XD

Promised these screencaps to [info]cugami ages ago and just now got around to posting them. I was talking about how this was such a funny scene at the end of episode 11. It's better seen animated but this series of screencaps is the next best thing. Images behind the cut are at 512x288 so apologies to anyone with a slow connection.

Gino shows up at Ashford Academy and runs over to greet Lelouch, who is his senior in school. Caps show how Lelouch steps back further and further as Gino approaches him. Gino's a typical overly familiar foreigner who's been known to sling his arm around Suzaku now and then.

Nice to meet you... Sempai )

So this whole exchange between Gino and Lelouch amuses me, especially at the end where you thought he was gonna do the same to Lelouch and kind of changes his mind at the last minute and just plants his hand on Lelouch's shoulder. I guess Lelouch cringing away was too obvious to ignore, lol.

Real Drive's episode 7 was a lovely treat for a dog lover like me. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of watching the preview for the next episode. One of the unique things about RD is that after the end credits roll, instead of the typical random shots of the next episode with a voice over for a preview, it actually shows what can be considered a kind of prologue to the next episode.

In this case the preview was comprised of shots of an empty school at night and then the bathroom stalls and then this ghostly apparition appears in it. I was watching this really late at night alone in my room, which is how I usually watch anime. Even after watching episode 8 through and getting a satisfactory explanation for the "ghost", the imagery still bothered me a lot. So I ended up finishing the rest of my Kyouran Kazoku Nikki backlog (episodes 8-10). It was just the thing to distract me from that ghostly apparition. Thing is, I was only supposed to watch one episode but ended up watching all 3 coz for the first time we get a two parter episode (8-9), and well I dunno why I watched til ep 10 now but that was another bad move on my part coz now I can't wait for the next episode!

Hyouka :3

The preview showed Hyouka's first love XDDD I love all the children but Biological Weapon No. 3 Hyouka has to be my most favorite. I still think it's a she but they keep referring to it as a he. I dunno, I would have preferred it to be a she and the voice used doesn't help to dispel this thought. But I guess with next week's episode, it's really gonna be difficult to think so for long.

The Midarezaki Family [Clockwise: Gekka (jellyfish), Ginka (gay son), Chika (adopted),
Hyouka (biological weapon), Ouka (dad), Kyouka (catgirl aka mom), Yuuka, Teika (lion)]

I know I didn't have KyouKa in my watch list before, but I'm glad I found it on [info]mithas's hard drive or I never would have checked it out. I see cat ears and I immediately go "no thanks". It has just the right dose of crazy comedy that I can stand. Love all the episodes so far. One of the things I look forward to is who will be doing the ED song. It amuses me to no end how many there are already. Back when I was still behind on the episodes, I spotted an ED3 torrent on tokyotosho and I thought, WTH, they have 3 ending songs already? They're actually going through all the family members so there's almost a new one every episode. Should really start collecting these before I forget. Recently heard Ouka's ED single and was really pleased with how good he sang. Course idiot that I am, I didn't know he was Tenipuri!Oishi's seiyuu. No wonder he sang so well.

For various reasons including one weekend of not watching anime, I am now behind on my spring to-watch list.

In no particular order... )

Including the new summer ones...

[SS-Eclipse] Slayers Revolution - 01 (1024x576 h264) [F53CCBD8].mkv
[SS-Eclipse] Slayers Revolution - 02 (1024x576 h264) [A593DE49].mkv
[BSS]_Natsume_Yuujinchou_-_01_[h264][9398884E].mkv
[gg]_Antique_Bakery_-_01_[7533E2C5].mkv <- not in my summer list but curious what all the fuss is about

So that's 20 shows x 24 minutes = 8 HOURS OMFG!!! NO

Yes, I watch too many things. No, I probably definitely won't catch up to all of that over the weekend because I'm gonna be out Sunday. Also, might end up spending the whole weekend watching all the Slayers movies so, eheh, good luck.

*sigh* This is why I don't like getting behind.

Got my hands on a lot of Fujiyama Hyouta manga, belatedly becoming a fan orz I've only read her Honki Ja Nee Kara and 1k Apaato, the latter of which I did not know was her work until recently. Bad mocha, not paying attention to the mangaka.

I really like Sugita Tomokazu's voice in the bl drama Warito Yokuaru Danshikouteki Renaijijou. I heard him in some other drama where I also liked his voice, first time I noticed him actually, he was the seme in the 2nd pair but I don't remember what drama it was.

Finally finished Shounen Onmyouji.
Me afterwards -> T___________________T

Caught up with Vampire Knight anime (didn't realize I had skipped an ep until I watched the last episode and realised I had no idea what happened before), and subsequently picked up the manga from where I left off. Looks like they pretty much stayed true to the manga. If there were important discrepancies, I didn't see any. Was gonna read ahead but stopped because 1.) I wasn't all that interested and 2.) I may not want to watch the anime again afterwards. I definitely have to go this route when it comes to anime/manga or I won't be able to continue both.

I was very good to my eyes this weekend! Paced myself well and didn't marathon anything! Rested a lot in between. Hope to do the same in the coming weeks.

EEEEEEEEEEEEE, Shiki shows his powers in episode 08 of Vampire Knight!!! The anime gods, they continue to tease.

I'm gonna max out my d/l limit this week with this and Macross Frontier. Great timing for Hoshi fans actually what with his birthday just around the corner.

p.s. Uri is love <3

Once again we get another blink and you'll miss appearance from Hoshi's character in Macross Frontier. This time around he doesn't even talk. I feel like I'm being tortured by the animators or something. The lengths I go through just to get a glimpse of this character. I stalk anime blogs just to see if he's in the episode. I watched this episode raw and streaming for pete's sake. At least with Code Geass they took pity on me right away. And the new episode for that comes out on a Sunday instead of a Friday when I'm not at work and have internet to stalk with.

So apparently we get another blonde with braid/s (by which I mean his Gino in Code Geass)? All other previous scenes had him with a bluish hue, including what we see of him in the opening. I really wish they'd show more of his character next time, preferably talking. The way it left off, there should be such a scene with Ranka next episode, I hope. And looks like we get to know more about Mikhail as well.

It's okay. I'll help you. You see, this is the last day I'll be using my body, so I'd like to do as I please while I still can.

Hey, what do you think of these boots? Aren't they cute?

This episode made me so sad T________T
